Afghan New Year's Festival (April - Date TBA): Join the AEA for the Afghan New Year's Festival at Pleasanton Fairgrounds for a day of food and fun! You can find us at the Festival every year selling our famous Samanak and shir chai (sweet milk tea) so make plans to join us this year! All funds go towards supporting the AEA's programs which would not be possible without the generous support of our community.

Mothers Day/Roz-E-Madar: The AEA began hosting its annual Mother's Day in 2005 and its popularity and recognition has grown tremendously since then. Our next Mother's Day event will be held on May 6 ,2011 at the Newark Pavillion with an expected turnout of up to 600 people. Mother's Day/Roz-E-Madar is the AEA's primary annual fundraiser and its success has largely been due to the Afghan communities consistent support in the planning, participation, and attendance and, of course, the sponsors and donors who have donated their time, money, and services.

All of the AEA's sponsors receive formal recognition through written acknowledgement in all publicity materials before and during the event and verbal acknowledgment during the event. Sponsors will also have the opportunity to set up a table at the event for outreach and advertisement and arrangements can be made for presentations during the program.
